Mastermind of Sakhi Sarwar blast arrested

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The mastermind of Sakhi Sarwar blast tragedy, Behram Khan, has been taken under arrest along with his four other aides, Dera Ghazi Khan police claimed this on Monday night.

Meanwhile, police have also succeeded to obtain a ten-day physical remand of the suspect from an anti-terrorism court, sources said.

According to details released by police, commander Ayub, Darra Ali and Behram Khan plotted to trigger a string of suicide attacks on a number of shrines in Mir Ali in December 2010.

A commander, Qari Zafar, provided the accused with explosives, suicide vests and other logistic support to carry out suicide attacks; police claimed, adding that Behram Khan had been apprehended from Bajaur Agency some days ago.

Later, the arrested accused, Behram, was produced before an Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) here in the evening wherein Judge Mohammed Ayub granted police his 10-day physical remand.

In the meantime, police obtained information from accused during investigation which led to capture of four more suspects, allegedly associate of mastermind, who were later identified as Saleem Jan, Ahmed Baloch, Bashir Ahmed and Asghar.

However, the associate commanders of key accused Ayub, Darra Ali and Qari Zafar have yet to be seized.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 50 devotees and pilgrims martyred and over 100 sustained injuries in Sakhi Sarwar suicide blast in Dear Ghazi Khan.
